This is a superb hand decorated and much sought after Beswick product. It can be described as a jug or pitcher, however a smaller version exists and is referred to as a jug. The relief decoration and design features a scene from William Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet. This Jug is part of Beswick’s series of wares depicting various works of Shakespeare and was only produced (recorded) between 1951 – 1973. There is an impress numbered 1214. There is also a factory back-stamp. Slight crazing on the underside and is totally free of any damage so there is no restoration and worthy of note is there is no foxing under the glaze. Height is 210mm.
