Sabino – Paris Art Glass in a Lalique Style Opalescent Crystal. This is a figure of a scantily draped lady on a round base and etched “Sabino Paris”. This is the Tanagra Statue which is a term applied to the small terracotta statuettes that were found in the ancient temples at Tanagra, in Greece. In French the term Tanagra also means a simple and gracious young woman with an elegant figure. In perfect condition, no damage. 195mm High x 110mm Wide. The artist Marius-Ernest Sabino (1878-1961) was an Italian-born Parisian who attended LEcole National des Arts Decoratifs and the Beaux Arts de Paris and had a close working relaionship with Rennie Lalique.
