A fine pair of porcelain plaques by William Corden signed and dated September 1823. William Corden was a Derby artist, C1811-1825. After this time he made his living in London and most famously painted the Rockingham Service for William IV. These fine painted portraits are of Charlotte Shirwin Longdon (wife of John Longdon) as Fidelity and their daughter Francis Jane Longdon as Hebe. Each of the porclain plaques measure 165mm x 130mm and they are mounted in their original wood and plaster moulded gilded frames. Charlotte Shirwin Longdon is portrayed in the right hand plaque and Francis Jane Longdon (daughter) is in the left hand plaque.
