The Antique Site offers for sale principally antique porcelain, bronze, and objet d’art from well-cared for private collections. We also sell jewellery, gold bullion, gold, silver and copper coins most of which is usually well dated by hall marks, date stamps or dated by usually unmistakable periods or artist styles and a few other odd and sometimes interesting modern items.
The Antique Site has been in the antiques business for a considerable number of years and although has had a presence on the internet, we have just taken a massive leap forward with a brand new website with faster accessibility and search capability. A key feature is our scrolling images which can make pleasant viewing and can be held and clicked to shortcut to the main image library. All images are copyright and incorporate a watermark but if a copy image is required please ask and we will try to accommodate your request.
We like many other dealers sometimes get stuck on a product so a visit to our ‘Help Us’ menu may be of interest to you as you may well know the ID of an item that no one else knows about.
We do not feel our antiques should be sold in a shopping basket environment and we know that many buyers frequently prefer to have some dialogue about an item they may be interested in acquiring. Once decided then payments (British Pounds Sterling) can be accepted by bank transfer or Visa or MasterCard credit cards (we do not accept Diners Club or American Express cards). Overseas bank charges for payments to be paid by the buyer.
We will ship to most countries but unfortunately some countries are excluded from our shipping destinations.
Any item we sell that is made from or includes worked ivory predates the legislative 1947 rule for worked ivory. While we are against the use of ivory even before 1947 we cannot change what has already happened, what we all can do is appreciate what beauty and enjoyment ivory gives us and remember the sacrifice of the animals life to give us that enjoyment. Please reject and report any product that may contain new ivory.
As our new website is ‘new’ we have quite a number of items to load so check back regularly for the latest additions.
Enjoy your visit to The Antique Site, constructive criticism or comment is welcomed as is any report regarding functionality.
